New! Digitalized IMED Protocol for All-on-4 and All-on-6 Therapy
What to Expect?
Tooth loss can significantly impact a patient’s quality of life and self-confidence, but it doesn’t have to be a permanent concern. With modern solutions like All-on-4 and All-on-6 therapy, it is now possible to fully restore both function and aesthetics in a single day—even in cases of complete tooth loss.
At IMED Polyclinic and Day Hospital, we developed our proprietary All-on protocol years ago to ensure precision, efficiency, and safety at every step. Now, we have enhanced this protocol with cutting-edge digital technologies, representing the pinnacle of modern implantology.
Below is an overview of the IMED protocol, from the first consultation to your final smile.
Phase 1: Initial Consultation and Treatment Planning
Every therapy begins with detailed diagnostics and a personalized treatment plan for each patient.
1.Radiographic Imaging – A detailed 2D (orthopantomogram) or 3D (CBCT) scan of the jaw provides a clear picture of your teeth and bone structure, including width, height, and density. If bone quality is insufficient, alternative advanced methods are considered.
2. Oral Surgery Consultation – The specialist evaluates your oral cavity, gums, and remaining teeth, and proposes the optimal treatment plan based on imaging and clinical examination.
3. Treatment Plan Presentation – Our patient support team reviews the full therapy plan, expected results, timelines, and costs.
4. Digital Preparations – Photo and video documentation, plus intraoral scanning, ensure precise digital planning for your future smile and implant placement.
Phase 2: Surgical Procedure
The surgical part of All-on-4/6 therapy is typically performed under general anesthesia, although conscious sedation or local anesthesia are also options. The choice depends on your preferences and health status. Preoperative assessment by an anesthesiologist ensures safe anesthesia for each patient.
During surgery, the following steps are performed:
-
Removal of remaining teeth and inflamed tissue
-
Ridge leveling and jaw preparation for implants
-
Placement of 4 or 6 implants per jaw
-
Placement of prosthetic abutments
-
Suturing and closure
-
Stereophotogrammetric implant scanning for precise mapping
-
Intraoral scanning for temporary bridge fabrication
The procedure is completely painless, and recovery is monitored in our day hospital. Stay duration depends on the anesthesia used: 2 hours for conscious sedation, 6 hours for general anesthesia. Patients are discharged under supervision with a companion.
Phase 3: Immediate Temporary Teeth
After surgery, implants undergo osseointegration, a process that takes about 4–6 months. During this time, patients wear a temporary prosthesis.
Thanks to our digital IMED All-on-4/6 protocol, patients receive fixed temporary teeth on the same day of surgery. This allows you to speak, eat, and smile normally immediately after the procedure.
Temporary bridges are crafted in our lab using CAD-CAM technology based on precise digital scans taken right after implant placement. After fabrication, the temporary bridge is secured on the implants, and bite and aesthetics are checked.
Phase 4: Final Permanent Bridges
Once the implants are fully integrated, the permanent prosthesis is fabricated using high-quality biocompatible materials such as titanium, zirconia, and composite resins for a natural and durable result.
Steps include:
-
Final photogrammetry and intraoral scanning
-
Prototype trial – testing aesthetics, bite, and fit
-
Final construction trial – checking precision and comfort
-
Delivery and permanent fixation using screws
This ensures stable, functional teeth that look and feel like your natural teeth, while allowing easy removal for maintenance if needed.
Each step of the IMED All-on protocol is carefully designed based on years of experience, prioritizing patient safety, comfort, and optimal results. Our goal is to give you a long-lasting, natural, and beautiful smile that you can wear with confidence.
