Implant-supported prostheses
Are you struggling with the loss of one or more teeth? Prosthetics on implants represent a permanent functional and aesthetic solution for the replacement of missing teeth or endodontically treated teeth with a significant or complete loss of the dental crown.
Whether it is a single tooth or the entire dental arch, modern augmentation methods offer effective solutions tailored to each patient.

Single Tooth on an Implant
If you are missing just one tooth, a tooth implant is an excellent solution. The procedure is planned based on a specialist examination and an X-ray and is usually performed under local anesthesia.
After implant placement, osseointegration (the fusion of the implant with the bone) occurs, which may take 3–4 months. A crown is then placed on the integrated implant, perfectly imitating a natural tooth in both appearance and function.
A tooth on an implant consists of three parts:
-
Implant
-
Abutment
-
Dental crown
The most advanced solution is digitally made monolithic zirconia crowns, screw-retained into the implant.
Segmental Bridge on Implants
If a patient is missing several teeth in one segment of the mouth, it is recommended to use a dental bridge supported by two or more implants.
The dental bridge is used to replace two or three adjacent teeth and consists of several connected crowns screw-retained on implants. This prevents neighboring teeth from shifting into the empty space and restores both functionality and smile aesthetics.
The procedure is the same as for a single-tooth implant – the first phase is implant placement, followed by the fabrication of the prosthetic restoration (the bridge) after osseointegration.
Semicircular Bridge on Implants
In the case of significant tooth loss in one jaw, a semicircular bridge is used to cover a larger part of the dental arch. A semicircular bridge includes 10–12 teeth supported by at least 4 implants. The bridge is fabricated based on a digital scan taken after the implant healing period.
Implant-Supported Dentures
Among implant-prosthetic solutions, there are also dentures fixed on implants – a semi-fixed solution for the replacement of all teeth in a jaw. Implant-supported dentures combine the stability of implants with the practicality of removable dentures. The implant is placed in the bone, while the external part secures the denture, which can be removed when needed.
We distinguish between locator (snap-on) dentures and bar-retained dentures, the main difference being the number of implants used (2 to 4). They are made from polymer material (acrylic), which is lightweight and aesthetically mimics the natural look of teeth and gums. Thanks to their mechanical connection to implants, semi-fixed dentures provide much greater stability compared to conventional (full) dentures.
The number and distribution of implants depend on the patient’s bone condition, but usually, 4 implants are placed in the upper jaw and 2 implants in the lower jaw. After implant placement, patients wear temporary removable dentures until the permanent restoration is completed.
All-on-4
All-on-4 is a fixed dental restoration used in cases of significant tooth loss or complete edentulism. It uses only 4 implants as supports to replace the entire dental arch. Since the bridge is fixed, it will not loosen during everyday activities such as eating, speaking, laughing, coughing, etc.
All-on-4 therapy is performed under local or general anesthesia in just one day, meaning you can go home the same day with your temporary restoration. The permanent work is placed after the healing process, usually after 4 months.
All-on-6
All-on-6 is another solution for complete dental arch restoration, using 6 implants per jaw.
It is applied in patients with severe gum disease where bone is severely compromised or requires greater support. With a higher number of implants, the restoration is biomechanically stronger, more stable, easier to maintain, and with a better long-term prognosis.
IMED Full Arch Concept
Full arch therapy is used to solve complete edentulism in cases where All-on-4/6 is no longer an option due to insufficient quantity or quality of bone needed for standard implant placement.
By using special zygomatic, pterygoid, subnasal, transnasal, and transsinus implants, this method avoids extensive bone regeneration and simplifies and speeds up therapy. The procedure is carried out in one day under general anesthesia, and the patient receives fixed temporary teeth the very next day.
